1. Election Observation and Voter Education (2020)

Location: Mwanza and Geita Regions

This project aimed to promote democratic participation by educating citizens about their voting rights and electoral processes. CADA conducted voter education for over 245,400 residents and observed key election activities before, during, and after the 2020 general elections. The initiative strengthened public awareness and ensured transparency in the electoral process.

2. Numeracy Education Support Program (LANES) (2018–2019)

Location: Mbogwe and Bukombe Districts, Geita Region
Donor/Coordinator: Ministry of Education through TENMET

Under the LANES program supported by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), CADA focused on improving foundational literacy and numeracy skills among children aged 5–13 years. Activities included parent dialogues, school competitions, and radio talk shows. The project led to improved community engagement in education and a 50% increase in performance across 20 schools in the target districts.

3. Opportunity for Youth Employment (OYE) (2017)

Location: Shinyanga Region
Donor/Coordinator: SNV Tanzania

This project targeted youth, including those with disabilities, to build their skills and connect them to employment opportunities in the renewable energy and horticulture sectors. CADA trained over 350 youth, facilitated the formation of 51 youth-led enterprises, and helped 250 youth gain employment. Some participants also accessed capital through financial linkages, creating long-term income sources for over 1,250 family members.

4. Income Generation through Solar Phone Charging for PLHIV (2016–2017)

Location: Magu District (Mwanza Region) and Busega District (Simiyu Region)

This project empowered people living with HIV (PLHIV) in off-grid areas by supporting them to establish solar-powered phone charging businesses. 20 groups of PLHIV were formed and trained, leading to an average income of $750 per month per group. The project enhanced both economic stability and access to clean energy while promoting entrepreneurship among vulnerable communities.

5. Education Out Loud (2022–2025)

Location: Mbogwe District, Geita Region
Donor/Coordinator: Policy Forum

This ongoing project focuses on empowering rural youth to actively participate in shaping education policies. Through training in evidence-based advocacy and the use of data collection tools, youth collectives have gained the skills to analyze local education challenges and present them to authorities. As a result, young voices are now influencing decision-making processes at both the district and national levels.

6. In-School Climate Change Dialogues (2023)

Location: Nyamagana District, Mwanza Region

The goal of this initiative was to raise awareness about climate change and promote climate resilience among students and their communities. CADA facilitated dialogues in five schools, reaching 380 students and sensitizing 1,200 parents through student-led meetings. The project created a foundation for community-based environmental advocacy and climate adaptation knowledge among youth.

7. Integrated Renewable Energy Services (IRES) (2021–2022)

Location: Muleba District, Kagera Region
Donor/Coordinator: SNV Tanzania

CADA was assigned to strengthen the capacity of local SACCOs to launch and manage renewable energy businesses. The project supported the development of inclusive business models, built management and marketing skills, and increased community awareness of clean energy benefits. It enabled SACCO members to access renewable energy loans and boosted entrepreneurial activity in underserved areas.

8. IRES Pilot – Renewable Energy Promotion (2016)

Location: Muleba District, Kagera Region
Donor/Coordinator: SNV Tanzania

In this early phase, CADA worked with SACCOs/PCS to introduce renewable energy products to rural communities. Activities included organizing 16 promotional events, training 12 sales agents, distributing marketing materials, and developing operational manuals. Over 40 SACCO members accessed energy loans, creating employment and expanding clean energy access in off-grid areas.

9. Supporting Orphaned and Vulnerable Children

Location: Magu District, Mwanza Region
Donor/Coordinator: Individual Donors from the Netherlands

Since 2014, CADA has been dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children through comprehensive care and community support. With the help of generous donors from the Netherlands, the project provides access to shelter, education, healthcare, and emotional well-being. Through collaboration with local orphanages and care-based initiatives, CADA creates a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive with dignity and hope for a better future.

10. Numeracy Education Support in Bukombe District (2018) 

Location: Bukombe District, Geita Region
Donor/Coordinator: Local Government Authorities (via Education Sector Support)

This project focused on improving basic numeracy skills among primary school children in Bukombe District. CADA worked closely with schools, teachers, and parents to enhance classroom engagement and learning outcomes. The initiative supported improved teaching techniques, learner motivation, and community involvement in school development.

11. CADA Youth Agribusiness Project (2016)

Location: Magu District, Mwanza Region
Donor/Coordinator: CADA (self-initiated with local support)

In this initiative, CADA trained youth in modern farming practices and agribusiness management to tackle unemployment and food insecurity. Youth participants gained skills in crop production, market access, and basic business operations. The project encouraged self-reliance and entrepreneurship among young farmers in the district.
